Well, my busy, chaotic days haven't changed and my weeks are flying by because of it. There seems to be not enough hours in the day to get things done and by the end of the day, I am exhausted and usually head to bed by 8:30, haha.
We just finished doing fluency tests with the kids so my extra time has been trying to figure those out and listening to all the kids read a few passages to me. On Wednesdays we now have a district inservice training class. So all of us Elementary teachers are doing a class from right after school until about 6 via a tv/video with the rest of the Elementary teachers in the district. I'm the site coordinator for that class so I have to make sure we have the papers we need, the materials we need and everything else is set up. But all the craziness does help keep my mind off home, usually.
Aside from some get togethers with other teachers and relaxing nights with Macy, I haven't done anything too exciting to update you all on.
My kids are still crazy as ever but they're just as sweet. Always asking if I need help, if I'm okay or just checking up on me. The amount of times I hear 'I love you' in a day is unreal.
Last weekend two of my boys came over and asked if they could visit. I said they could and they helped me make bread. Then believe it or not, we sat, drank coffee and discussed my lack of a love life.... that's what my life has come to? haha... I said who would of thought. But they're great kids who have my best interest at heart and vice versa!
Macy is doing well... getting big! She hasn't quite gotten the hang of peeing outside only but she is getting better - for the most part! Except for when she jumps up on the bed with me just to pee. Which just happened while I was typing this... : ( So needless to say, she's on a little time out in her crate. Thank goodness for that crate because the days are so much easier with her in it. I don't have to worry about her chewing anything or peeing/pooping anywhere!
Our elementary team put this poster together during out class this past Wednesday. It's all the roles a teacher plays... and of course we had to go with an octopus because we need all those tentacles to get all of our stuff done! We were pretty happy with this. I'm going to laminate it and then we'll hang it in our teacher work room. : )
My girls and I ... there's only a few of us so we've got to stick together.
And then there's my boys. We were only missing one that day. These crazy boys really have my heart!
This is how I walk around trying to teach... one if not more is ALWAYS attached to me. I don't know how many times a day I have to say go away, haha!
I came into my classroom on Friday morning to find this card. The front had my name with the sun and then this is the inside. It's from our Janitor, Carrie! She's so sweet!
68 days until we come home. : )
Lauren made me ice cream with her ice cream maker! YAY! Lauren is the VPSO's wife. Her and her family actually lived in Port Heiden last year when I was there and moved to Manokotak right before I got the job here. Small world. : )
On a daily basis, this is what I deal with.... trying to get work done while they're doing my hair, hugging me, etc.
Some Halloween decorations. I had my kids make more that are decorating our classroom... pictures of that soon!
Aurora! She is Tara's (one of the teachers) daughter. She is so strinking cute and LOVES Macy. She just turned 2 on Thursday and she knows Macy's name and my name... she's a smart little girl!
Lauren's puppy, Dozer. We think they're from the same liter. Macy's brother. : )
Not so nice and green anymore!
Even though she's driving me crazy with this potty training thing, she's still the cutest puppy ever and I love her so much.
